25 Years Ago in the Nineties: C & C Music Factory Featuring Freedom Williams “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)”
In 1990, record producers Robert Clivillés and David Cole came together to create the group C & C Music Factory. Over the course of the next five years, the act would appear on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart nine times, with four of those songs reaching the Top 40 and the first three songs making the Top 5. Exactly 25 years ago, C & C Music Factory’s first hit became what would remain their biggest hit, when “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now),” featuring Freedom Williams, climbed to number one for a two-week reign.
