25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson “Beauty and the Beast”

Up to this point, the live-action remake of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is the highest grossing film of the year in the United States, and this past week it was the second-highest grossing film of the week. In connection with the remake, Ariana Grande and John Legend recorded a new version of the title song from the film, originally recorded by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson in 1991 original animated film. Interestingly enough, exactly 25 years ago, Dion and Bryson’s version of the song climbed to a peak position of number 9 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
