25 Years Ago in the Nineties: David Cassidy “Lyin’ To Myself”
New York City-born musician David Cassidy has hit the Top 40 with all five songs he has placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The first four of those hits, including his only Top 10 hit, came during a one-year span from late 1971 to late 1972 at the height of the popularity of the television show that made Cassidy famous, The Partridge Family. Then, after 18 years off the chart, Cassidy returned in 1990 with the song “Lyin’ To Myself.” Exactly 25 years ago, “Lyin’ To Myself” was in the midst of a two-week run at its peak position of number 27.
