25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Extreme “More Than Words”

Interestingly, of Boston-based band Extreme‘s four appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, two reached the Top 10 and two didn’t make it out of the Bottom 10. All of those songs hit the chart between 1991 and 1993, with the first two songs, “More Than Words” and “Hold Hearted,” not only making the Top 10, but also rising to the Top 5. The band’s first song, “More Than Words,” was their biggest hit, and exactly 25 years ago, it climbed to number one for a one-week reign.
