25 Years Ago in the Nineties: George Michael/Elton John “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me”
In 1991, pop music superstars George Michael and Elton John teamed up to record a version of John’s 1974 hit “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.” While John’s original recording of the song reached number 2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, exactly 25 years ago the remake with Michael did its predecessor one better, rising to number one for a one-week reign.
