25 Years Ago In The Nineties: Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers “Swing The Mood”
British group Jive Bunny and the Mastermixers hit number one in various countries with their single “Swing the Mood,” which sampled various early rock ‘n’ roll songs set against a base sampling of Glenn Miller’s “In The Mood.” In the United States, exactly 25 years ago, the single reached a peak position of number 11, where it would spend one week.
The group followed up “Swing The Mood” with another song set around sampled early rock ‘n’ roll. That song, titled “That’s What I Like,” also attained international success, including going to number one in the United Kingdom like “Swing The Mood” did. On Billboard‘s Hot 100 in the U.S., “That’s What I Like” peaked at number 69.
