25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Madonna “Keep It Together”
When Madonna‘s “Oh Father” peaked at number 20 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in the first week of the 1990s, it broke a string of what had been 17 consecutive Top 10 singles for the Material Girl. Madonna’s very next single got her back on track, though, as exactly 25 years ago, “Keep It Together” climbed to a peak position of number 8, where it would spend one week. “Keep It Together” began a run of eight more consecutive Top 10 singles before Madonna would miss again when “Bad Girl” peaked at number 36 in 1993.
