25 Years Ago in the Nineties: Mariah Carey “I’ll Be There”
During her appearance on MTV’s Unplugged in 1992, pop music superstar Mariah Carey performed a version of The Jackson 5’s “I’ll Be There” that also featured South Carolina-born singer Trey Lorenz on accompanying vocals. The cover of the classic tune was released as a single, and exactly 25 years ago, it climbed to the top of Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart for a two-week reign.
