In the early 1990s, Aberdeen, Washington-based group Nirvana became famous as a symbol of the Generation X generation and as one of the music industry’s leading grunge-rock artists. The band rose to such acclaimed status with its first single to chart on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” which was also the group’s only Top 10 hit. Exactly 25 years ago, “Smells Like Teen Spirit” rose to a peak position of number 6.
