25 Years Ago in the Nineties: The West Coast Rap All-Stars “We’re All In The Same Gang”
In 1990, a number of rap and hip-hop stars from the U.S. West Coast came together to record a single produced by Dr. Dre that promoted an anti-violence message. The collection of stars included Ice-T, Tone Loc, MC Hammer, Oaktown’s 3.5.7, Young MC, J.J. Fad, members of N.W.A., and others. Exactly 25 years ago, that single — “We’re All In The Same Gang” — reached a peak position of number 35, where it would spend one week.
