25 Years Ago in the Nineties: UB40 “Can’t Help Falling in Love”

Birmingham, England-based band UB40 has hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart eight times, with six of those appearances turning into Top 40 hits, and four of those songs reaching the Top 10. The band’s biggest hit is the second of their two number one hits — a remake of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Exactly 25 years ago, UB40’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” which appears on the soundtrack to the 1993 film Sliver, rose to the top of the chart for a seven-week reign.
