It’s Already Been Five Years: Far East Movement Featuring Cataracs & Dev “Like A G6”

Today, Tunesmate is debuting a new weekly feature called “It’s Already Been Five Years” that looks back exactly five years to see what was happening in pop music. This initial edition features Los Angeles-based band Far East Movement, which have reached the Top 30 with all three singles they have placed on Billboard‘s Hot 100 to date. Their biggest hit was their first hit — “Like A G6,” which also featured The Cataracs and Dev. In the last week of October and first week of November of 2010, “Like A G6” spent two weeks at number one. Then, after a couple weeks out of number one, exactly five years ago, “Like A G6” returned to the top for a third and final week.
