DEF: David Foster “Tapdance”
A couple of recent Daily Eighties Flashbacks have commemorated the 30th anniversaries of songs from the film White Nights. Today’s Daily Eighties Flashback looks to another tune from the film, though one that did not appear on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.
Canadian-born composer David Foster has written for a multitude of popular music artists and is one of the most celebrated hit single writers in pop music history. In 1985, he hit the Top 40 himself with the instrumental tune “Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire” from the film of the same name. That same year, Foster penned an instrumental piece titled “Tapdance” that was featured in White Nights and included on the film’s soundtrack. Commemorating its 30th anniversary, “Tapdance” by David Foster is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
