DEF: John Williams “Yoda’s Theme”
As the latest Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, continues its record-breaking box-office domination, today the Daily Eighties Flashback looks back to the first of the two Star Wars films to be released in the 1980s. In 1980, The Empire Strikes Back introduced moviegoers to memorable new characters to add to the Star Wars universe, such as Lando Calrissian and The Emperor. Perhaps most notable among those new characters was Yoda, and in recognition of the current prominence of Star Wars, today’s Daily Eighties Flashback commemorates the first prominent new Star Wars character of the 1980s with “Yoda’s Theme,” as written and conducted by John Williams.
