Philadelphia-based group Sister Sledge hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart three times, most famously with their number 2 single “We Are Family” in 1979. On this date in 1982, the quartet’s third of their three Top 40 hits, a remake of Mary Wells’ “My Guy,” climbed to a peak position of number 23, where it would spend two weeks.
