Pennsylvania-based band The Cyrkle appeared on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart six times, all between 1966 and 1967. Interestingly, each successive single peaked lower than its predecessor. Thus, their biggest hit — and their only Top 10 hit — was their first charting single, “Red Rubber Ball.” Exactly 50 years ago, “Red Rubber Ball” climbed to a peak position of number 2, where it would spend one week.
