Between 1966 and 1969, New Jersey-based vocal group The Happenings placed nine songs on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, two of which reached the Top 10. Exactly 50 years ago, the group’s first Top 10 hit, “See You in September,” climbed to a peak position of number 3, where it would spend two weeks.
