DEF: The Animals “The Night”

Newcastle upon Tyne, England-based group The Animals is most known as part of the British Invasion of the 1960s, when they placed eighteen songs on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart between 1964 and 1968, including their first charting single, “The House of the Rising Sun,” which hit number one. The group did, though, make one chart appearance in the 1980s, and on this date in 1983, that song — “The Night” — climbed to a peak position of number 48. “The Night” by The Animals is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
