Michigan-based group Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels made six appearances together on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with five of those songs reaching the Top 40 and three hitting the Top 10, all between 1965 and 1967. The band’s biggest hit was “Devil With a Blue Dress On & Good Golly Miss Molly,” which exactly 50 years ago, rose to a peak position of number 4.
