DEF: Paula Abdul “(It’s Just) The Way That You Love Me”

In 1989, Paula Abdul‘s singing career broke out when she climbed to number one with her single “Straight Up” and then proceeded to score four more Top 5 hits from her debut album, Forever Your Girl. The fourth of those singles was actually the second single released from the album, though in its initial foray on the charts — in the fall of 1988 — “(It’s Just) The Way That You Love Me” only spent five weeks on Billboard‘s Hot 100, peaking at number 88. A year later, the song was rereleased, and on this date in 1989, it climbed to a peak position of number 3. “(It’s Just) The Way That You Love Me” by Paula Abdul is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
