It Happened 50 Years Ago: The Monkees “I’m a Believer”

Los Angeles-based band The Monkees made twenty-one appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, with twelve of those songs reaching the Top 40, including the band’s first eleven songs to appear on the chart. Amid all of that success, The Monkees’ biggest hit was the second of their three number one hits, “I’m a Believer.” Exactly 50 years ago, “I’m a Believer” rose to number one to begin its seven-week reign.
