Detroit-based vocal group the Four Tops had two periods of Top 10 success on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. First, they scored the first five of their seven Top 10 singles between 1965 and 1967. Then, six years later, they reached the Top 10 with back-to-back singles in 1973. Exactly 50 years ago, the last of the Top 10 singles from the Four Tops’ first run, “Bernadette,” climbed to a peak position of number 4.
