Among Melbourne-based band Crowded House‘s five appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, their only two Top 40 hits, which are also both Top 10 hits, are their first two charting singles — “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Something So Strong,” two tracks from their self-titled debut album. “Don’t Dream It’s Over” was the first and biggest hit of the two, and exactly 30 years ago, it climbed to a peak position of number 2.
