DEF: Alexander Courage and Jerry Goldsmith “Theme music from Star Trek: The Next Generation”

Exactly 30 years ago today, Star Trek: The Next Generation brought the famed franchise back to television after nearly two decades off the air. The creators of the new series utilized elements of the theme music written by Alexander Courage for the original Star Trek along with elements of Jerry Goldsmith’s theme music used in the Star Trek film series to create the title theme for the new show. To commemorate the show’s 30th anniversary, the theme music from Star Trek: The Next Generation is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
