David Cassidy 1950-2017

As you’ve likely heard, David Cassidy passed away yesterday at the age of 67. Cassidy, of course, came to fame as a member of The Partridge Family, and that popularity fostered his solo career. Interestingly, in Cassidy‘s solo career, he hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart five times, and all five songs reached the Top 40. The first four came between the early 1970s, when “Cherish,” “Could It Be Forever,” “How Can I Be Sure,” and “Rock Me Baby” charted between the fall of 1971 and the fall of 1972. Then, eighteen years later, in the fall of 1990, Cassidy made a comeback with his song “Lyin’ to Myself.” Among the five songs, Cassidy’s biggest hit is his first charting hit, “Cherish,” which reached number 9 in late 1971.
