It Happened 50 Years Ago: Strawberry Alarm Clock “Incense and Peppermints”
Los Angeles-based band Strawberry Alarm Clock made five appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, all between 1967 and 1969. The band’s biggest hit was their first charting song, “Incense and Peppermints,” which exactly 50 years ago climbed to the top of the chart for a one-week stay at number one.
