Songs Used As Queues: Dreamweaver

Have you noticed there are a handful of songs that are used in television and movies to queue a specific moment? “Dreamweaver”, the 1976 hit by Gary Wright that reached #2 on the charts, is one of those songs that is often used to highlight a breakthrough moment. When the song is immediately played it has a significant meaning – it’s a shortcut to a deeper meaning.

Here are some recent memorable moments when the song was used. In 1992, Gary Wright re-recorded a longer version of “Dream Weaver” for the Wayne’s World movie soundtrack; it is used when Wayne sees Cassandra for the first time. In 2010, the song was played to note the first meeting between Ken and Barbie in Toy Story 3.
