British band Deep Purple made eight appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The group’s biggest hits were their pair of Top 10 hits, both of which reached number 4. Exactly 50 years ago, the first of those two hits, “Hush,” entered the Top 10 on its way the next week to its peak position.
