Daryl Dragon 1942-2019

Daryl Dragon, a.k.a., “Captain” from Captain and Tenille, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 76. Captain and Tenille enjoyed all of their pop chart success between 1975 and 1980, when they made fourteen appearances on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Nine of those songs hit the Top 40, seven reached the Top 10, and two climbed to number one. Interestingly, it was the duo’s first and last Top 40 hits that were their two chart-toppers. Of those two, Captain and Tenille’s very first charting song, “Love Will Keep Us Together,” was their biggest hit, spending four weeks at number one in 1975.
