While Janet Jackson‘s 1984 album Dream Street didn’t produce any hits on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart, two songs from the album reached the Top 40 on the R&B chart. On yesterday’s date in 1985, the second of that pair of hits, “Fast Girls,” rose to a peak position of number 40.
