Good Day for a Bad Day
Canadian singer-songwriter Daniel Powter is one of the ultimate one-hit wonders in Billboard‘s Hot 100 history: recording artists whose only single to hit the chart went to number 1. Exactly five years ago today, Powter rose to the top for the first of a five-week stay with “Bad Day.” At the end of the year, Billboard also listed “Bad Day” as the number 1 song for 2006, making Powter the only act in pop music history whose only song to hit the Hot 100 became the number 1 song for the year it charted. Truly not a bad day for Powter at all, eh?
