Long Live The Bee Gees
Danny Wright posted on his Facebook wall something that with his permission, I wanted to share with you. The radio personality wrote a touching retrospective on the passing of Robin Gibb and the impact of Bee Gees music on the world.
He said the following, “The Bee Gees did something VERY few acts have done. They were at the forefront of two huge cultural changes. They were one of the first and biggest acts of the British Invasion in the 60’s. They successfully morphed into a huge act during the disco era. That ain’t easy, folks.”
Danny continued with, “And while he may be wealthy and still handsome as he ages, imagine the loneliness of Barry Gibb tonight. All three brothers – Maurice, Robin and Andy – gone. He is the last. Money might do many things but it never can fill the void he must be feeling. I hope he takes small comfort in knowing the band had millions of fans around the world and they helped keep me employed with a long string of incredible radio hits.”
He closed with, “Barry? I can not pretend to know how you feel to lose another – and your final – sibling. I truly wish you the best and peace for the remainder of your days.”
I found this post accidently while searching online. Thanks!
There is a sister, Lesley, remaining with Barry.
