Eye In The Sky
Between 1976 and 1984, the British act The Alan Parsons Project hit the top 40 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart eight times. Of those hits, one reached the top 10, and exactly 30 years ago today, that single, “Eye In The Sky,†peaked at number three.
The band’s period of producing music lasted for 15 years, from 1975 to 1990, before the two main members of the Project, Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson, went their separate ways. Woolfson continued to make music until his death in 2009. Parsons also continues to make music, though he has made the news more pronouncedly in the past couple years when he claimed that Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” borrowed from “Eye In The Sky.”
