The Lonely Bull

Exactly 50 years ago, “The Lonely Bull” by The Tijuana Brass featuring Herb Alpert was peaking at number 6 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.  The tune was Alpert’s first single to hit the Hot 100, and it would end up as the fourth-biggest hit of Alpert’s career.  Alpert hit number one with “This Guy’s In Love With You” in 1968 and with “Rise” in 1979, while also peaking at number 5 with “Diamonds” in 1987.
