Icehouse
Exactly 25 years ago, Australian band Icehouse peaked at number 7 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with the biggest hit of their career, “Electric Blue.” The song was the second straight Top 20 hit for the band, following a peak at number 14 earlier that year with “Crazy.” Those two songs mark the band’s only two Top 40 hits in the United States, though between 1980 and 1990, they hit the Top 40 in Australia quite a few more times.
The band has been through a number of lineup changes since forming — originally with the name “Flowers” — in 1977, but founder Iva Davies has remained the entire time, and they continue to make and perform music. For more on Davies and Icehouse, check out the Icehouse official website.
