By The Time I Get To Arizona

As they have in the past, Billboard magazine is marking Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a list of songs about King.  Starting with one of the most well known — U2’s “Pride (In The Name Of Love)” — Jillian Mapes walks through ten different songs that focus on King, his legacy, and what he represents.  Of particular significance as we commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. Day, one of the songs on the list, “By The Time I Get to Arizona” by Public Enemy, addresses the refusal by politicians in the state of Arizona to make the day a holiday.
