When The Children Cry
Part-Danish, Part-American rock band White Lion first hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 in 1988, when their single “Wait” from their album Pride rose to a peak position of number 8. While their follow-up single, “Tell Me,” stalled at number 58, the band’s third Hot 100 single, “When The Children Cry,” became White Lion’s biggest hit. Exactly 25 years ago “When The Children Cry” peaked for one week at number 3.
Later in 1989, White Lion would hit the Hot 100 with two singles from their next album, Big Game. However, neither of those songs would garner the success of their two Top 10 hits from Pride, as “Little Fighter” peaked at number 52, and their remake of the Golden Earring classic “Radar Love” hit number 59. Those two songs marked the final appearances of White Lion on the Hot 100.
