Detroit-born singer Mary Wells hit the Top 10 three times on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart in 1962-1963.  These singles included peaking at number 8 with “The One Who Really Loves You,” at number 9 with “You Beat Me To The Punch,” and at number 7 with “Two Lovers.” It was her fourth and final Top 10 hit, though, in 1964, that became her biggest hit. Exactly 50 years ago, that song — “My Guy” – hit number 1 for the first week of t a two-week run at the top.
