DEF: Bruce Springsteen “Dancing In The Dark”

As Tunesmate noted a few years ago, Bruce Springsteen is among the most successful popular music artists who never hit number 1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.  The closest the Boss ever came occurred in 1984, when “Dancing In The Dark” came up just short, peaking at number 2.  Exactly 30 years ago, “Dancing In The Dark” rose to that peak position, where it would spend four weeks, kept out of the top spot by Prince’s “When Doves Cry,” which leapfrogged “Dancing In the Dark” during the Springsteen song’s second week at number 2.

“Dancing In The Dark” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
