California-born signer Marta Marrero, more widely known as Martika, hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times between 1989 and 1991.  Exactly 25 years ago, the biggest of those hits, “Toy Soldiers,” hit number one, where it would stay for a two-week reign.
