Chicago-born pop musician Richard Marx, who just released his latest album, Beautiful Goodbye, last month, achieved his greatest success in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including hitting the Top 20 with his first 12 singles to appear on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. His biggest hit came right in the middle of that run, as his sixth single — the second from his Repeat Offender album — spent three weeks at number one. Exactly 25 years ago, that song, “Right Here Waiting,” rose to the top spot for its three-week reign.
Today, “Right Here Waiting” is the Daily Eighties Flashback.
