California-born musician and composer Mike Post has hit the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart three times, with all three singles coming from television shows. Two of those singles hit the Top 10. In 1975, Post hit number 10 with the theme music to The Rockford Files. Then, in 1981, Post once again hit number 10, this time with the theme music to Hill Street Blues, which also featured guitarist Larry Carlton.
On this date in 1981, the Hill Street Blues theme hit its peak position, where it would spend two weeks. Today, “The Theme From Hill Street Blues” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
