It Happened 50 Years Ago: The Honeycombs “Have I The Right?”
Amid the male-dominated British Invasion in the 1960s, London-based band The Honeycombs became known for having a female drummer, as Honey Lantree joined four men to make up the band’s lineup.
The Honeycombs hit Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart twice, with back-to-back singles in late 1964 and early 1965. “Have I The Right?” rose to number 5  in late 1964, and after debuting on the chart in late 1964, “I Cant Stop” peaked at number 48 in early 1965.
Exactly 50 years ago today, “Have I The Right?” reached its peak position, where it would spend one week.
