DEF: Phil Collins “Another Day In Paradise”

Phil Collins was one the most successful musical artists of the 1980s. In addition to 11 Top 40 hits, including one number one, with Genesis, Collins reached the Top 40 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart 14 times as a solo artist (including duets). Those 14 Top 40 singles included seven number ones. Perhaps it was fitting, then, that as the decade ended, Collins stood atop the Hot 100.

Exactly 25 years ago, “Another Day In Paradise” — Collins’ first single from his … But Seriously album — rose into the number one position on the Hot 100. The song would spend four weeks at the top, making it the final number one single of the 1980s and the first number one single of the 1990s.

“Another Day In Paradise” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
