DEF: Royal Philharmonic Orchestra “Hooked On Classics”

In late 1981 and early 1982, the London-based Royal Philharmonic Orchestra made an appearance on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with “Hooked On Classics,” a medley of classical songs played by the orchestra set to a disco beat. On this date in 1982, “Hooked On Classics” rose to a peak position of number 10, where it would spend two weeks.
