Title Title on the Tenth: “Creep”

In last month’s Title Title, the Dave Clark Five edged out Journey for the “Any Way You Want It” Title Title.

For this month, the Title Title looks to the mid-1990s. Exactly 20 years ago, TLC‘s song “Creep” was in its third week of a four-week run at number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. TLC’s song is one of two songs with a title of just “Creep” to hit the Hot 100, as Radiohead reached number 34 with their song “Creep” in 1993. Additionally, in between the two, Stone Temple Pilots reached number 59 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart with their song titled “Creep.”

Interestingly, in the nearly 60 years of Hot 100 history, all three songs titled “Creep” appeared within a two-year window of one another. Now that you’re amazed by the creepiness of that confluence of songs named “Creep,” the question for this month is which “Creep” wins the Title Title. You can listen to all three songs and vote below.
