DEF: Blondie “Call Me”
Between 1979 and 1981, New York City-based band Blondie hit number one on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart four times, as “Heart Of Glass,” “Call Me,” “The Tide Is High,” and “Rapture” all accomplished the feat. Of the four singles, “Call Me” ranks as the band’s biggest hit, having spent six weeks at the top of the chart. Exactly 35 years ago, “Call Me” climbed into the number one position for its six-week run.
Commemorating that anniversary, Blondie’s “Call Me” is today’s Daily Eighties Flashback.
