Artist Song Thread – Jump + Top of the World

Have you noticed some of your favorite songs sound alike? Many artists take a prior song and mix a thread of it into a new hit. Many artists when asked about the reason for this thread say it’s a homage, or just the fact they realized both songs were born from each other.

Have you ever noticed the riff at end of Van Halen’s “Jump” is the main riff of “Top of the World”? It’s interesting how that riff ties two different eras of Van Halen together. The David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras come together from this one riff.
