Birthday of the Week: Dion DiMucci
This week’s Birthday of the Week is New York City-born musician Dion DiMucci, a.k.a. just Dion. Dion is known for his success with the group The Belmonts and then as a solo artist in 1950s and 1960s. On Thursday (July 18), Dion turns 80.
To commemorate Dion’s milestone, what’s your favorite Dion or Dion and the Belmonts song? Mine would be the last of his eleven Top 10 hits, “Abraham, Martin and John,” which was a tribute to Abraham Lincoln; Martin Luther King, Jr.; and John and Robert Kennedy.
