Birthday of the Week: Peter Cetera

This week’s Birthday of the Week is Peter Cetera, who, of course, is known for both his time with Chicago and his solo work. On Friday (September 13), Cetera turns 80.

To commemorate his milestone, let us know your favorite song featuring Peter Cetera. Among many great choices, I have adored “Glory of Love” since it came out nearly 40 years ago.

So many classic hits! If You Leave Me Now, Hard To Say I’m Sorry and You’re The Inspiration were the best songs he wrote and performed for Chicago. Glory of Love, Next Time I Fall and Even A Fool Can See were the best hits from his solo career. Honourable mentions for his exceptional duets After All, Feels Like Heaven and Forever Tonight. My personal favourite Peter Cetera song is One Clear Voice. Many happy returns of the day, Peter!

You’re the Inspiration was my wedding song and that’s tied with If You Leave Me Now, which was Chicago’s 1st #1 hit. Thanks Peter.

I hope you have a great 80th Peter. My mother turned 80 in July and she as well as my father, who passed in 2015, also grew up on the South Side of Chicago.

I have been a fan of yours since 1975, when I was almost 7.

I also love one clear voice but overnight cafe is also a favourite. I have the piano music for Do you love me that much which I really enjoy playing.

Happy Birthday Peter. You have given me many happy hours of listening to your music.
